Modifications in Aortic Stiffness After Endovascular or Open Aortic Repair: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

چکیده

Increased aortic stiffness (AoS) has been recognised as a risk factor in the development of cardiovascular disease. The aim this systematic review and meta-analysis was to assess impact repair on AoS. PubMed, Scopus, Web Science were searched systematically for relevant studies evaluating consequences endovascular open Preferred Reporting Items Systematic Reviews Meta-Analysis Protocols (PRISMA-P) statement followed perform research process. Papers containing data AoS before after both thoracic (TEVAR) abdominal (EVAR) repair, well surgical (OSR), included detailed evaluation. A fixed effects model used analysis. Newcastle–Ottawa Scale calculated each study. first article cluster comprised 367 papers. After removal duplicates adoption inclusion/exclusion criteria, 14 articles remained, 13 which selected meta-analysis. Ten analysed EVAR three TEVAR. Five papers case control studies, with OSR adopted four these comparator. Several graft types group. increased TEVAR EVAR, terms pulse wave velocity (PWV), even though several spatial levels measurement modalities adopted. No differences described OSR, although no pooled could be analysed. demonstrated significant increase (PWV). Further improve mutual interaction between aorta endograft, minimising their native wall properties.

Retrograde Type A Aortic Dissection After Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

BACKGROUND Retrograde type A aortic dissection (RTAD) is a potentially lethal complication after thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR). However, data are limited regarding the development of RTAD post-TEVAR. This systematic review aims to define the incidence, mortality, and potential risk factors of RTAD post-TEVAR. METHODS AND RESULTS Multiple electronic searches were performed. Fifty...

Mortality after endovascular repair of ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysms: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

OBJECTIVE To document mortality after endovascular repair of ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysms (RAAAs). DATA SOURCES MEDLINE and EMBASE databases. STUDY SELECTION Articles that reported data on mortality after endovascular repair of RAAAs were identified. Only patients with true ruptures were included. Additionally, information on mortality after concurrent open repair was sought. DATA ...

Endovascular repair or open repair for ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm: a Cochrane systematic review.

OBJECTIVES Emergency endovascular aneurysm repair (eEVAR) may improve outcomes for patients with ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm (RAAA). The study aim was to compare the outcomes for eEVAR with conventional open surgical repair for the treatment of RAAA. SETTING A systematic review of relevant publications was performed. Randomised controlled trials (RCTs) comparing eEVAR with open surgica...

Endovascular repair of ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysms: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

OBJECTIVES The perioperative mortality for people with ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysms (RAAA) has not changed for two decades. Of patients who survive long enough to undergo open repair for ruptured aneurysms, half die (48%; 95% confidence interval [CI] 46 to 50). Randomized trials have shown that endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) for nonruptured abdominal aortic aneurysms decreases perio...

Long-term survival after open repair and thoracic endovascular aortic repair for descending thoracic aortic aneurysms.

Thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) for descending thoracic aortic aneurysms (DTAs) was first reported by Dake et al1 in 1994. The advent of TEVAR was clinically relevant because open DTA repair had long been associated with operative mortality rates ranging from 5% to 7% at centers of excellence2,3 to as high as 20% to 22% in real-world practice.4,5 The favorable results6 of TEVAR with...
